Hi! My name is Pam Phillips, and I’m the owner of Pam the DogWalker. I established my business in 2014, and have been caring for pets for over 25 years. It’s a privilege to provide pet care for people who love their pets as much as I love mine.
I have two cats, (Cat 1 & Cat 2, named by my kids!) and two senior dogs, Maggie (a 14 year old fox-hound/coonhound mix) and Pepper (a 14 year old beagle/border collie mix—we think!). Maggie, recently underwent ear surgery to remove her left ear canal, due to chronic ear infections. Unfortunately, she is unable to hear, however, we use hand signals and body language to communicate and we seem to understand each other pretty well. Pepper is our trash can investigator, sniffing out anything that he can possibly get a wiff of. Both of our dogs have come from local rescue shelters, which I am happy to support through volunteer service.
One of my passions is to help promote good behavior in shelter dogs, in the hopes of aiding in their adoption into forever homes. I’m fortunate to be a part of the wonderful dog walking/training volunteer program with the York County SPCA. My experiences here are an invaluable part of my ongoing passion for the study of animal behavior.
The one thing that makes me happiest is being able help either animals or people in need. With the assistance of my awesome dog, Pepper, who at the ripe old age of 14, became a registered therapy dog with KPETS (Keystone Pet Enhanced Therapy Services), I am blessed with the opportunity to visit various local facilities to help people who suffer from stress, depression or physical disabilities. Any time I can hang out with my dogs and make people happy is a perfect day in my book! What can I say? My life is full!!!
My love of animals has been a lifelong ambition, and I am thrilled to have the privilege to spend my time not only with my own awesome pets, but also to provide the same care to your furkids, that I would give to my own.
